The Sentencing Council has commenced a consultation process on the offences under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. There are no definitive guidelines for the offences of the MSA 2015. To date, the Council has published draft guidelines on which it is now seeking views.
The Councils seeks responses addressing:
- the principal factors that make any of the offences included within the draft guidelines more or less serious;
- the additional factors that should influence the sentence;
- the types and lengths of sentence that should be passed; and
- anything else you think should be considered.
The Consultation period started on 15 October 2020 and will run until 15 January 2021.
