The event is a series of lectures titled ‘Slavery past and present: understanding the history and context to the present day’. During the lecture, Philippa discussed the themes of policing and prosecution. The purpose of the course is to promote and encourage a broader understanding of this subject by reference to the history as well as present situation through the lens of those expert in the field whether as academics, government officers, practitioners, NGO workers, and stake holders.

- Patricia Carrier – a Project Manager with the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre
- Qiraat Cunningham – policy lead for transparency in supply chains in the Modern Slavery Unit (MSU) at the Home Office
