Earlier this month our managing director Philippa Southwell was invited by the Law Society to meet with the Dai-Ichi Tokyo Bar Association on their visit to the United Kingdom.
Ms Southwell was invited to present a lecture on the Modern Slavery Act 2015, transparency and supply chain, protection for victims, prevention orders and both domestic and international human rights and modern slavery due diligence and compliance. Ms Southwell met with the delegation at the Law Society residence.
The Law Society has memorandums of understanding with the Dai Ichi Tokyo Bar Association, the Japanese Federation of Bar Associations as well as the Japanese Ministry of Justice, Biritish Embassy in Tokyo and the Japanese Embassy in the UK.
Ms Southwell provided in depth training regarding Modern Slavery law both domestically and internationally.
