UNODC has published the 2020 ‘Global Report on Trafficking in Persons’. It is the fifth of its kind mandated by the General Assembly through the 2010 United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons. The report covers 148 countries and provides an overview of patterns and flows of trafficking in persons at global, regional and national levels.
The report analyses a global overview of trafficking, expands on patterns of child trafficking and roles that extreme poverty have on this form of exploitation. The report focuses on emerging patterns of technology that are used to recruit and facilitate exploitation.
